Atlanta is rich in unique, community-focused events that showcase talented small businesses, artists, and makers. On any given weekend, there is always a dope event to attend and businesses to support. If you are looking for a place to vend or a lover of community inspired events, here are some of our favorite events that you most definitely should support.
1. Craft Trap
Founded by KD Supreme in 2017, Craft Trap is created for the culture. It’s a market created by an artist for artists and features dope underground creatives. It allows creatives to grow their network, gain exposure, promote entrepreneurship and group economics for the arts culture. The event features small businesses, live body paintings, live visual art, live music, street apparel, vintage fashion, clothing, jewelry, home goods, indie artist merchandise, local snacks, food vendors and local DJ.
2. This is Her Market
HERMARKET™ is a platform created for female-owned indie brands to connect with their shoppers, influencers, buyers + local retail shop owners through market-style pop-ups, retail experiences + collaborations. They are also on a mission to foster community by hosting a monthly gathering of girl time, fun + self-care. Their goal is to become the number one resource for emerging brands by being the bridge between women-owned businesses and the marketplace.
3. Savory Soul Black Food Truck Event
Taking place every 1st and 3rd Friday’s, Savory Soul Friday’s is designed to foster community in the historic Castleberry Hills. It is one of the newest events in Atlanta created to spotlight black-owned food trucks, showcase several black-owned small businesses throughout Atlanta. It’s a lawn chair and kick-back type of event that is filled with purpose, great food and overlooks the historic Castleberry Hills community. Catch us, every 1st and 3rd Friday, from 4-8pm as we support our businesses, build our community, and have a little Friday fun. We are excited to be an official community partner for this event.
4. “BREAK BREAD ATL”
Break Bread ATL is created by The New Atlanta. It introduces Atlanta teens and young adults to new restaurants, eating experiences, and culinary arts while providing networking experiences throughout the Atlanta area. At each monthly session, guests have the opportunity to eat ,drink,and network. The event features great host and featured speakers who drop gems, resources and inspiration. The coolest thing about BBA, you never know who will walk in the door and end up breaking bread next to you.
5. Atlanta Indie Market
The Atlanta Indie Market (AIM) is a year-round shopping experience and hangout destination. Located on the newly completed westside of the BeltLine, AIM brings together independent artists and brands. EVERY 4th SATURDAY you can experience a day-long event that oozes in creativity and great vibes. This is a family-friendly event, and it’s FREE TO THE PUBLIC.
6. Atlanta Truck Park: Vegan/ Vegetarian Block Party
Atlanta Food Truck Park is Atlanta’s first and only dedicated location for mobile Food & Retail businesses. Once a month, vegan and vegetarian foodie lovers get together for a vegan and veganish block party. The event showcases an array of Healthy Food and Beverages, Adult Bar (21+), music and overall good time, great music and a good time. And for all you parent of pets, the event is also pet-friendly (small/medium leashed dogs only).
7. Friends and Neighbors
In collaboration with Art on the Atlanta Beltline, Arbitrary Living created Friends and Neighbors event series. Friends and Neighbors is a mini boutique festival, loads of kick-back fun; it mixes a day party vibe, all while celebrating southern hospitality, public art, and creative commerce at Historic Fourth Ward Park Outdoor Theater and Meadow. The day fest begins in the afternoon and then winds down into a lush evening garden party. It’s an event for everyday people who love everyday people, good vibes, a great cause, and welcoming community.
